We have embarked on an exciting journey with dm (drogerie markt) to bring sustainable shopping to more German stores. Fifteen dm stores across Lower Saxony, North Rhine-Westphalia, and Hesse are pioneering a new way to shop with MIWA refill stations.

MIWA is pleased to announce the official publication of our feedback on the Waste Framework Directive proposal. We appreciate the European Commission's initiative to revise the Waste Framework Directive (WFD), specifically its emphasis on addressing food waste. We welcome these proposed changes as they align with our commitment to sustainability and our mission to reduce unnecessary waste in the food supply chain.

The Sustainable Packaging Summit is a different kind of event, with a mission to bring together leaders and thinkers from within and outside industry to focus on the dilemmas and barriers on our pathway to sustainable transformation. And we are happy to have been a part of it.

We have teamed up with REWE, one of Germany's largest retail chains, to introduce our packaging waste-reducing technology in 11 REWE stores across Germany.

MIWA was founded because the current predominant system of disposable packaging is not sustainable. Packaging is the largest consumer of virgin materials in the EU, accounting for 50 % of paper consumption and 40 % of plastic consumption. Packaging also accounts for more than a third of municipal solid waste.
